Outside 1.2 now available

January 13th, 2011 in Outside

Outside 1.2 just went live! Retina support graphics and Free notifications for everyone. Update through the App store now.

We thank everyone for your patience, we can’t begin to describe how long we’ve actually been working on this. We had to rebuild the entire app (not just the ton of graphics) to accommodate the higher resolution artwork and animations. This basically meant starting from scratch and creating Outside all over again.

Crisp Retina Graphics

Outside now features fantastically detailed high resolution art to make your inner weatherman see things more clearly.

Free Notifications

What happened to the Notification Subscription? After months of crunching the numbers and reorganizing the servers, we’ve decided to shoulder the cost of offering custom notifications – We thank everyone who have supported the subscription service, know that it’s because of you that we are now able to offer the service for free. Hopefully enabling thousands of people to start setting up custom notifications and using the system less restrictively.

We hope you enjoy this much awaited update, as always 5 star reviews on itunes or a simple tweet are a tremendous help in keeping the app alive. Thank you again for your patience, we know it’s been a long time coming but we hope you enjoy this latest installment of Outside.

You can shake the device to refresh the weather data.

I just want to say I love your work – it is quite inspiring!

I just bought Outside for my birthday :) I am a little curious are you also planning to develop outside on Android devices?

    Keep up the good work!
